Mengo Hospital, the oldest hospital in East Africa,
was founded in 1897 by Sir Albert Cook of the Church Missionary Society. On this
web site you will find all about our history, our current day services and who's
who in Mengo Hospital.
Mengo Hospital is one of the major hospitals in Kampala and is licensed as a
health delivery unit by the Ministry of Health. In 1958 the Hospital was handed
over by the Church Missionary Society to an independent and autonomous Board of
Governors and Registered Trustees.
