MEDICAL EQUIPMENT DEPARTMENT

  PROFILE

Medical equipment department started operating in 1987.  The main reason for having started this department was mainly to stem the habit of discarding faulty instrument and medical equipment.  So by that time the hospital employed a Bio-medical equipment technician who could carry out the following: 

• Repair the faulty instruments and medical equipment

• Servicing and maintenance services

• Installing medical equipments

Medical equipment department performs the following duties below: 

• Responsible for the servicing, maintenance and installation of medical equipment.

• Setting up an inventory for all medical equipments in the hospital.Training the users of medical equipments in various departments in the hospital.

• Advising the hospital management upon the procuring of new medical equipments.

Medical equipment department is understaffed.  It has only one staff.  This department needs the donor’s assistance in the following fields listed:

• Assistance for further studies due to advanced technology of medical equipments globally.
